The Library Service Cooperation in the Shanghai area can be traced back to the mid-50s of the 20th century. In the practice of about 50 years, this cooperation gradually developed from the interlibrary loan in the first place to the library consortion with multiple systems and multiple types, and became an operational network with the support of multiple resources. Entering the new century, a new concept of institutional cooperation has appeared in the library service cooperation in the Shanghai area. With the support of modern information processing and communication technology, the Shanghai Central Library System, which is still in the process of expansion, has extended the interlibrary cooperation to various fields, including the rational division of resources, unified regulations of resource management, scientific allocation of service facilities and in-depth development of resources.
