摘要

早期偵測並積極主動治療輕度認知障礙或許可以減少失智的進展並減輕照顧負擔。過去，全世界最普及認可的一份認知篩檢工具，係採用簡易心智狀態量表(Mini-Mental State Examination, MMSE)是，然而對於輕度認知障礙患者，MMSE需要進行第二次的追蹤評估較能確認而延緩診斷時程，此外，大約每份一美元的版權費用也增加了使用者負擔。聖路易大學心智狀態測驗(Saint Louis University Mental Status Exam)簡稱SLUMS，總分30分，測試內容包括定向感、記憶力、注意力以及執行功能等。研究顯示SLUMS測驗對於輕度認知障礙的敏感度較MMSE為佳，可以立即偵測問題，早期開始治療。而且不須版權費用，可以減輕照顧負擔。本文介紹SLUMS測驗的翻譯過程、比較SLUMS與MMSE的心理計量特性、並提供翻譯後的SLUMS-台灣版測驗卷以及使用說明書供讀者參考使用。

Early detection of mild cognitive impairment with proactive treatment may help retard the onset of dementia and reduce burden of care for families of dementia. The Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) has been considered a standard of screening for dementia; however, it requires a follow up for confirming subjects with mild cognitive disorder. Furthermore, the MMSE is now a proprietary tool costing approximately 1 US dollar per patient. This increases the burden of patient care. The Saint Louis University Mental Status (SLUMS) examination is a 30-point screening questionnaire that tests for orientation, memory, attention, and executive functions. The SLUMS-Taiwan version has been granted permission for translation with author's suggestions for modifications to fit local needs. This article introduces the translation process, compares the psychometric properties between the MMSE and the SLUMS tests, and exhibits the translated forms of the SLUMS test and its instruction for use.
