This study's purpose was to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic achievement among college students. The sample consisted of 46 female students, all between the ages of 21 and 38, with a mean age of 22.67 years (SD=2.43). The Adolescent Emotional Intelligence (Chiang, 2001)was utilized in this study. Stepwise regression was also used. Our main findings are as follows: (1) ”expression of personal emotion” correlated significantly with academic achievement; (2) ”expression of personal emotion” correlated significantly with graduate achievement. Our results suggest that students who are more skilled at the expression of personal emotion may have a better record of academic achievement.
