從多元文化觀點探討東南亞新住民教導子女母語之層面與方式

摘要


本研究旨在從多元文化觀點探討東南亞新住民教導子女母語之現況,瞭解不同背景的東南亞新住民教導子女母語的因素與困境,進一步探討教導母語之層面,以及教導母語之方式,並且調查東南亞新住民對母語教學相關資源協助之瞭解概況,最後歸納研究結果,提出具體建議,期能提供東南亞新住民、相關政策、學校及未來研究者之參考。 本研究係以基隆市東南亞新住民為主要研究對象,藉由質性研究的方法,以半結構訪談的方式進行研究。根據立意取樣的方式選定九位東南亞新住民進行深度訪談,經研究發現,並獲得以下結論: 一、東南亞新住民教導子女母語之因素與困境中,影響之因素依序為「認為自己的子女應當學習母語」、「經由旁人提醒可教導子女母語」、「能與母國家人朋友溝通」、「讓子女能夠多學習不同的語言」、「孩子自己好奇想學」;而阻礙之困境依序為「母語的發音較難學」、「孩子認為在台灣用不到,沒必要學習」、「因工作忙碌,無暇教導子女母語」、「家人反對」、「擔心教導子女母語後,影響國語發音」。 二、東南亞新住民教導子女母語之層面有「教導日常用語」、「使用母語教學書籍」、「教唱母語兒歌」、「講述母語故事」。 三、東南亞新住民教導子女母語之方式有「溝通式教學方式」、「歌曲教學方式」、「自然教學方式」、「直接教學方式」。 四、普遍欠缺宣導教導東南亞語言之相關資源協助訊息。 最後,根據研究結論提出具體建議,以提供東南亞新住民、相關政策、學校及未來研究者之參考。

The purpose of the study was to investigate the current condition of the southeast Asia new immigrants mothers how to teach their children mother tongue. Learned factors and difficulties of Southeast Asia new immigrants from different backgrounds teaching their children the mother tongue, and to explore further the methods and the types of mother-tongue teaching, and investigate the overview of the related resources to assist the mother-tongue teaching. The Southeast Asia new immigrants in Keelung as the main participant of the study, prepared by the method of qualitative research, semi-structured interviews to conduct research. In-depth interviews with nine Southeast Asia new immigrants based on purposive sampling mode is selected. Based on the findings obtained the following conclusions: 1. Southeast Asia new immigrants to teach their children were based on the factors sequentially, "that their children should learn their mother tongue", "others reminded them to teach their children through mother tongue", "to communicate with family and friends of mother’s native country", "let children learn a different language", and "the children are curious to learn"; and to discourage them teaching their children were based on the problems, "native pronunciation is more difficult to learn", "children think mother tongue is no need to learn in Taiwan", "too busy working to teach their children"," opposition of the husband’s family", and "worry about teaching their children mother tongue and influence Mandarin". 2. The methods of mother-tongue teaching were "to teach daily talk," "to use mother-tongue teaching books", "to teach singing native songs", and "to tells the native story". 3. The types of mother-tongue teaching were "the Communicative Approach", "the song pedagogy," "the Natural Approach", and "the Direct Method". 4. Generally lacking of outreach about the messages to teach the Southeast language of the relevant resources and assistance. From the above findings and conclusions, some suggestions can be made as reference for the southeast Asia new immigrants, related policies, school, and further study in the future.
