Analysing the Status of Handicapped Aged Lived in Wan-Lee, Jan-Ai Sanatorium

摘要

民國七十四年元月二十七日由5位物理治療師對居住在台北縣萬里鄉仁愛之家的75位殘障老人做了一次訪視及檢查，主要在瞭解造成殘障的原因，上、下肢運動功能、關節活動度及接受指示的能力等，結果顯示造成殘障的原因以腦中風最多，約占三分之一強，運動功能方面87%可以走路，真正經常臥床僅13%，手功能方面76%幾乎正常，12%僅具輔佐功能，另外12%僅具任何功能，關節活動度受限制的有40例，77處關節。71例可以接受指示，由以上結果可知75 位殘障居民的殘障程度均不甚嚴重，因此透過持續性的復健動作包括改善運動功能、增進關節活動度等可使殘障老人的日常生活過得更有意義。

Seventy-five aged handicaps lived in Wan-Lee, Jan-Ai Sanatorium were examined by five physical therapists. The average age of those handicaps was 74.5 year-old range 58-93). There were 63 males and 12 females.
The mainly causes of handicap were stroke, arthritis, fracture and senile dementia. Only 10 cases were bed-ridden, and the others were ambulatory. Seventy-one cases could follow order, fifty-seven possessed good hand function. In Summary, most of the aged examined in the sanatorium were possessed sound rehabilitation potential.
There was no rehabilitation program set up in the sanatorium yet. Therefore, a comprehensive rehabilitation program is urqently needed for those aged handicaps.
