The purposes of this study were to explore the current situation and the relationship between teaching and job involvement for PE teachers in colleges and universities. Based on theoretical literature and empirical research on related subjects, an assessment tool is developed: Questionnaire-"A study of the relationship between teaching and job involvement for PE teachers in colleges and universities" and content validity is constructed by professionals. 795 samples were chosen from 168 colleges and universities. Based on questionnaires from 429 PE teachers, several conclusions made according to the research findings are: 1. At present, PE teachers in colleges and universities feel that their job involvement is at the upper middle level. 2. There were significant differences in job involvement for the variables of martial status, teaching experiences, duty, education levels, position, and school attributes. According to those results, this study provides suggestions to the education authorities, colleges and universities, PE teachers in colleges and universities, and future researches.
