美加日港牙科衛生士與牙醫助理之簡介

摘要

牙醫助理與牙科衛生士均是牙科醫療團體成員之一，台灣已有口腔衛生學系畢業生投入就業服務，在牙科醫療團隊之中與牙醫助理一起協助牙醫師診療病患，但是目前牙醫助理與牙科衛生士之問並沒有法律規範，因此其職業的角色與工作範圍並沒有差異。無法讓專業的人員發揮專業的水準來造福人群，這對由國家教育所培養出來的口腔專業人員而言不啻是項損失。因此，在國內牙科輔助人員法正在成形之際，茲收集美國、加拿大、日本與香港的牙醫助理與牙科衛生士之相關資訊，包括：牙科衛生士之起源、教育制度、認證登記、工作內容、工作地點與薪資等工作資料，以做為學界教學與行政機關立法的參考。

Dentist assistants and hygienists of dental department are the members of medical group of dental department. In Taiwan, there were the graduates of Dental Hygiene departments participating in the service in the medical group of dental department for assisting the dentists with the treatment of the patients with dentist assistants. However, currently, there was no related laws and regulation with regard to the definition of dentist assistants and hygienists of dental department. Therefore, their roles and working scale were similar. The professionals thus could not benefit the people with professional standard. For the professionals with dental specialty cultivated by educational system of the country, it was actually a pity. Therefore, at the time of the gradual formation of national assistants of dental department, the researcher collected the related information of dentist assistants and hygienists of dental department among America, Canada, Japan and Hong Kong including the working information such as the origin of hygienists of dental department, educational system, registration of certificate, working content, working area and salary as the reference for teaching in academic circle and lawmaking of administration institutions.
