Landscape is not a pure representation before the spectator or the artist, but an expression of the transformation, of process. To encounter with landscape, even in its ordinary form, will bring out a sense of place by indicating the concrete situation where human bodies are located. But the landscape is experienced in a dynamic process. Hence, human beings are in a constant passage, observing a scene in front of them while being inscribed in that scene. But the ordinary and artistic experiences may choose some certain sections of landscape in accordance with different interests. In the modern times, the framing of landscape is involved with the technical control of nature and of the human existence linked with the lived landscape. The passage in and from landscape demarcates a creative spacing that helps us reflect on the concrete conditions of human life.
