再論印順法師與《華嚴經》的研究—以「方法論」和「修學歷程」為中心

摘要

印順法師是當代著名的佛教學者，他的研究方法與治學經歷對我國的佛學研究頗有啟發的作用。本文對印順法師的佛教研究「初期大乘」的方法論與他的「修學歷程」做了梳理，認為他在研究方法上注重「華文聖典」，揭示了漢譯佛教資料在研究早期佛教當中的重要性。他的研究歷程也對後來的研究者有諸多的啟發，依照經典的發展線索，注意思想演變的內在邏輯關係，以思想與教義的變化作為研究的基礎，這些都是符合歷史發展規律的做法，同樣也是研究佛教史及其思想史的一個重要的參考。此外，本文還對印順法師研究「華嚴法門」的菩薩信仰做了考察，認為他抓住佛土思想的產生與發展的線索，以毘盧遮那佛的光明遍照特性為依據，較好地說明了「華嚴法門」的理論演變情況，對這一領域的研究作出了自己應有的貢獻。

Rev. Yinshun is a famous contemporary Buddhist scholar. His research method and academic life influence so much on the Chinese Buddhist studies. This paper focuses on his academic methodology and the realization of his Buddhist life. Rev. Yinshun always emphasizes that the importance of the Chinese early Buddhist texts which will help the study of early Buddhism in India and China. His studies enlightened greatly the later scholars. He always emphsizes that one should rely on the trace of Butddhist texts, pay closely attention to the inner logical relationship and regard the Buddhist thoughts and doctrines as the bases of the study. His research undoubtedly coincides with the development of the history and society. Besides, Rev. Yinshun also inquires into the belief of Buddhavtamsaka. He believes this faith is the essential of Buddhism; thus, he contributed so much to the development of Chinese Buddhism.
