Classical incest is the most taboo of all taboos in human society. The client, in an early stage of life, started to experience the process of disorganization and to feel the uncertainty of relationship within the family. He/She was trapped in the indescribable darkness of humanity. Father was the caretaker, but in the mean time, he was either the perpetrator. Mother, the source of love and hope, was also the cause of disappointment and despair. Just like Oedipus-the tragic hero of Greek mythology, the survivor was inevitably manipulated by the cruel destiny. This article is about the process of helping an adolescent female who has been a victim of domestic violence and incest from an early childhood. Through the experience to art therapy, the client was helped to face the complicated, painful relationships between her and her parents and was supported to have a life of her own.
