This article would like to proceed from chapter seven of Tang Jun-yi's Existence and State of Mind, ”The Return to the Holy”. This in hopes to bring to light his understanding of Christianity, and use it as a springboard to discuss a possible dialogue between Confucianism and Christianity. After briefly discussing Mr. Tang's basic arguments, the author would like to employ the notions of ”Suffering” and ”Transcedence” as a starting point for a praxis-oriented dialogue. Then it is possible to see more clearly the differences and similarites between the two. In a world where values are in crisis, and face the attacks of nihilisic thinking, the result is a sense of loss. A non-judgemental approach to dialogue between these two traditions, each choosing the best of what the other has to offer, they can then provide an answer to modern man plunged in the crisis of a meaningless existence, by a prayer to the transcendence.
