4G標準與世界各國發展現況

4G Standard and Worldwide Development Status

摘要


雖然目前全球第三代無線通訊網路才剛開始服務大眾,但世界無線通訊先進國己開始規劃及發展第四代的無線通訊網路。歐盟FP6 (sixth framework program)及WWRF(wireless world research forum)等組織均已投入4G規格需求與技術研發。日本的NTT DoCoMo公司(1999)、韓國的 ETRI(2002)、中國的FuTURE(2001)已規劃明確的4G研發藍圖,並共同成立聯盟,以打入國際標準為目標。國際電信聯盟無線電通訊組織(ITU-R)從2000年起即開始討論未來十年無線通訊的憧憬(vision)及需求(requirements),但對未來4G標準目前並無詳細規定,僅有一追求的大致目標,那就是一個可提供在高速移動度下能做高速數據傳輸的AII-IP系統,在高速移動下能達到100Mbps、在慢速移動(nomadic/local)狀態下最高能達到1 GbPs。它將是一個任何人、在任何地方、在任何時間都能使用的通訊系統。正式的4G標準將在2007-2010期間制定,於2010-2015期間在世界各地建置使用。研發4G是世界的潮流,更是我國通訊科技界建立自有關鍵性智財(Essential IP)之契機。

While the 3G wireless communication network is just open to public, the 4G wireless technology development has already taken off in some advanced countries. The organizations such as FP6 (sixth framework program) and WWRF (wireless world research forum) have already launched the investigation of 4G requirements and technology development. The NTT DoCoMo of Japan (1999), ETRI of Korea (2002) and FuTURE of China (2001) all have blueprints for 4G technology development and collaboration in order to influence the 4G standards. In 2000, the ITU-R started the discussions of the vision and requirements of wireless communications for next 10 years. Yet, no exact standard for 4G was defined, as only a overall goal is set for the future system. It will be an AII-IP system that can provide high speed data transmission, 100 Mbps in high mobility environment and 1Gbps in nomadic/local environment. It is a communication system that can reach customers anytime and anywhere. The 4G standard is scheduled to be defined in 2007-2010 and deployed in 2010-2015. Being a raising trend, the research and development of 4G provides a good opportunity for Taiwan communication industry to establish its own essential IPs.
