《大般若經》的嚴淨佛土所透顯的環境倫理觀

Abstracts


本文扣緊《大般若經》的嚴淨佛土,總共分成五個主要的步驟,提出佛教對於環境倫理的關懷、觀點與實踐之道。首先,介紹《大般若經》對自然界的關懷、認識與說明:其次,扼要敘述一般對自然界的三種態度及其行動取向,以做爲特別是和《大般若經》之間差異點上的對照理解;第三,進入本文的核心課題,凸顯《大般若經》的嚴淨佛土在環境倫理觀的樞紐地位,也就是由隨順自然界進而對自然界以修持來轉型,這之間的轉變,嚴淨佛土扮演關鍵的角色;第四,探討隨順自然界的環境倫理觀;最後,探討對自然界以修持來轉型的環境倫理觀,並且以非佔有性、非宰制性、非強制性、非憐愍性來標示《大般若經》環境倫理的特色。

Parallel abstracts


Based on the Sutras of the Perfection of Wisdom, this study investigates if there is a Buddhist philosophy of nature and how the Buddhist tradition develops its environmental ethics. In an effort to add to our overall understanding of the Buddhist environmental ethics, this study focuses on the idea of the purification of the Buddha Field, and begins with an examination of the ways the Sutras of the Perfection of Wisdom relate themselves to the natural world. Two kinds of attitude toward the natural world can therefore be distinguished. One is in compliance with the natural world, and the other is actively engaged in transforming the natural world. Finally, I concentrate especially on discerning the four characteristics of the Buddhist environmental ethics: nonpossessive, nondominative, noncoercive, and nonpatronizing.
