In 1919, the Bauhaus school was founded by Walter Gropius in Weimar, Germany. Based on the art and technology, Bauhaus that combined crafts and arts, and was famous for the approach to design that it publicized and taught. Bauhaus was founded with the concept of ”rationale” and the idea of creating a 'total' work of art in which all arts, including architecture would eventually be brought together. Although Bauhaus operated only in 15 years (1919-1933), the Bauhaus style became one of the most influential currents in modern design. The Bauhaus movement has been the greatest influence on the design field in the 20 th century. In general, the development of Taiwan design education was followed the concept of Bauhaus style. In 21 th century, especially at 90 th anniversary of Bauhaus, it's time to rethink the concept of art and technology in one unity in Bauhaus style. Therefore, taking the college of design in National Taiwan University of Arts as an example, the main purpose of this paper is intended to study how to adjust the ”technology and humanity” in design education. Especially, in recent development of creative industries focuses on the efforts among the government, enterprise, and academia sides. It is necessary to bridge the gap between the design education and design practicing to establish a design strategy for educational, research, professional and administrative endeavors.
