Alcohol use disorders not only seriously affect people's physical and mental health, but also cause great harm to family, society and the economy. During the acute alcohol withdrawal period, due to the hyperactivity of the autonomic nervous system, there may even be symptoms such as hallucinations and delusions. In order to avoid physical damage or withdrawal failure, it is the primary treatment principle to reduce withdrawal symptoms as early as possible. In addition to reducing withdrawal symptoms through appropriate alternative therapies and regular medications, traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture, electroacupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine can be used to reduce the psychological craving caused by physical discomfort and emotional disorders, thereby increasing the possibility of successful withdrawal. In this study, we explore Airity Library and Pubmed journal literature in the past ten years, to summarize the feasible methods of TCM adjuvant treatment of alcohol use disorders for reference by clinicians.
