Textbook is a main instrument for teachers to achieve teaching goals and also the main source for students to obtain knowledge. Science textbooks edited with sufficient materials and structured in a prudent manner are useful for teachers. Under the guidance of teachers, students can progressively learn new knowledge and establish a firm foundation. The educational function of textbooks can be exploited if learning is meaningful to students. In this study, the research subjects were elementary school third-year science teachers using Natural Science and Living Technology textbooks published by Kang Hsuan Publishing Group. A questionnaire survey was conducted to understand the teachers' opinions as to the appropriateness of the textbooks in six dimensions, including ”features of the publication”, ”curriculum objectives”, ”course content”, ”content organization”, ”teaching implementation”, and ”supplementary resources”.
