品德核心價值之探討-以民主基礎系列叢書兒童版的故事繪本為例

An Action Research of Investigating on Responsibility, One of the Core Values of Character

摘要


本文是使用民間司法改革基金會─法治教育向下紮根中心所推薦之「民主基礎系列叢書兒童版」中的「認識責任─動物管理員」故事繪本(CCE,1998/2007c;戴玲慧譯),對台灣中部某國小四年級進行品德教育的行動研究。本研究利用此系列圖書建議的思考工具,引導學生用思考工具分析面臨的問題與責任。品德教育並非價值中立,教師才是教導品德的專業人士,本研究發現透過認識責任的教學,中年級孩童可以分辨什麼是責任?並理解承擔與拒絕責任的後果,進而作適當的選擇。家長也察覺此一教材對孩子責任感有正面的影響。本研究也發現透過使用「價值分析」而非價值灌輸取向(Good & Brophy,1995/2000)的教學模式,能幫助學生建構品德與責任核心價值,而此套叢書正是可以提供現場教師教導責任的教材。

This is an action research about using Responsibility (Foundation of Democracy for Level K-2) by Center for Civic Education as the teaching material in a 4th grade class in Taiwan. The Series provides thinking tool for each subject to help both teachers and students to analyze the impacts the decisions we make daily might have had if we react differently. Therefore, we shall make decisions after thinking thoroughly. Responsibility is a teachable concept if well planned. Parents also noticed positive behaviors changed among the students and provide positive feedbacks toward the teaching of responsibility for the 4th graders. We found that concept teaching, such as responsibility, if started with reflection and practice worked much better than the traditional way such as preaching.
