水療(SPA)原文源自於拉丁文Solus Por Agua,意思是「經由水帶來健康生活」。因水療具有美容、醫療及養生功效,符合國人需求,是未來休閒事業發展的重點之一。結合觀光休閒與健康美容概念,台灣業者近年來紛紛投入所為的「健康休閒事業」,成立以服務業為導向之健康休閒中心,使水療成為國內全民運動的休閒時尚。然而,在水療市場迅速型成商業化商機的過程中,水療文化卻未被業者與消費者完整的認識。有鑑於此,本研究擬以歷史文化發展角度,採用次級資料研究法,由水療淵源歷史來說明現今水療市場發展型態以及提出對未來水療市場在台灣發展之建議。本研究之研究目的包含了對水療文化發展歷史與背景的了解、水療市場發展型態與類型的認識、水療在台灣市場的應用概況以及水療發展文化對台灣水療市場之影響。文末並提供未來台灣水療經營趨勢發展與研究的建議。
The word SPA origins from Latin 'Solus Por Agua' which means 'health through water'. It is one of the key sectors which the leisure industry places emphasizes to develop in the future because its features of beauty and medication meet the demands of domestic tourism market in Taiwan. There are a lot of enterprisers have invested in so called 'health leisure industry' in recent years. These service-oriented health leisure centers have prompted SPA became a trendy leisure option among Taiwanese. However, knowledge about SPA has not being recognized as much as the degree of its commercialization. Therefore, this paper attempts to review the historical development of SPA and discuss its commercial market applications. Secondary data review is chosen as the primary research method in this paper. The ultimate research objective is to propose suggestions for the SPA market developments in Taiwan.
