Podontia lutea (Olivier) is the largest flea beetle in the world. In addition to the penis, gonocoxae, spermatheca, abdominal ventrite VIII in females, and the abdominal ventrites II–V of both sexes are illustrated and are diagnostic based on comparisons with those of another widespread species, P. dalmani Baly.
