淇武蘭遺址上文化層的外來陶瓷：一個歷史考古學的研究

摘要

本文以宜蘭淇武蘭遺址上文化層出土的外來陶瓷器為材料，探討噶瑪蘭地區對外貿易及內部住民生活的變遷。研究方法上，採取考古材料為主，歷史文獻為輔的方式，在充分了解遺址出土的脈絡資訊之後，與已知的文字史料進行對話，嘗試在與既有歷史資訊相互對照之餘，藉由考古學所提供的跨時空資料以及人類學強調在地觀點的特質，將噶瑪蘭的歷史嵌入東亞區域史。考古遺址出土的近代陶瓷研究潛力，以及考古材料於台灣史研究的發揮潛力，皆在這樣的研究上得到例證。本研究最末展現出一個融合歷史與考古資訊的完整敘事，外來陶瓷器雖來自千里之外，卻為遺址在地族群的互動及其歷史文化變遷提供線索。

This paper focuses on the exotic ceramics from the upper cultural layer in the Ki-Wu-Lan Site, especially from the 17(subscript th) to the 19(subscript th) century C.E. By analyzing the distribution of exotic ceramics in different time periods and comparing their different archaeological contexts, the author embeds the cultural processes of the Kavalan people in both local and regional perspectives. Exotic ceramics are one of the most important archaeological remains from the Taiwanese historical period. The author argues that after identifying these exotic ceramics, archaeologists should further investigate the local meaning of these objects. In terms of the exotic ceramics in the Ki-Wu- Lan Site, this paper not only shows the change of local meanings in different historical frameworks but also different meanings within the same time period.
