摘要
犬外耳道炎的病例中，耳垢顏色一直被用於區別造成耳道感染之細菌或黴菌種類的依據。本研究的目地在於探討犬耳道內菌叢與耳垢顏色之關係。在41隻犬的79個犬耳垢採樣中，顏色大致可分為兩類：黃色與棕色。分析結果得知，耳道內菌叢種類與其耳垢顏色沒有相關性。在健康耳道和耳道炎病例，耳道內均經常有兩種以上不同的菌種同時存在，因此無法由耳垢之顏色知道感染之菌叢種類。

The colour of the aural discharge in canines has been reported to hear some relationship to the bacterial or fungal flora present in cases of canine otitis externa. The aim of this study was to elucidate the relationship between aural microflora and the colour of cerumen. Colour of 79 canine cerumen samples from 41 dogs was studied. Cerumen was classified into two arbitrary colour types; yellow and brown. No correlation could he found between cerumen colour and the microorganisms present. The colour of cerumen could not indicate the associated microflora if the ears were colonised by more than one microorganism, a situation which is very commonly found in both healthy and otitic ears.
