The purpose of this study was to investigate the properties of 4-plies laminated wood made from Taiwan red pine , Honduras mahogany and common teak with butt, scarf and finger joint by UF adhesive, and with different location of joint in laminated wood. The results obtained were as follows: 1. The strength of butt joint laminated wood could be improved when the distance between each butt joint increased, when use the full-length lamina as bottom lamina in laminated wood, its strength would be improved significantly and up to the strength of laminated wood made from four full-length laminas. 2. The strength of scarf joint laminated wood could be improved as increasing either the ratio of horizontal length (L) to vertical length (H) of the slope or the distance between each scarf joint. The over all strength could be improved obviously when use the full-length lamina as bottom lamina in scarf joint laminated wood. 3. The bending strength of finger joint laminated wood was slightly lower than the scarf joint laminated wood with L/H ratio of 8.0. The strength of finger joint laminated wood had a little or no progress as the finger joint position in each lamina was not on a line.
