木材經五氯酚處理後,使用年限可顯著延長。但如何有效處理含五氯酚之廢棄物為一棘手問題,困傳統焚化法使五氯酚在高溫下轉化為劇毒戴奧辛,造成嚴重環境污染。本研究係將五氯酚(PCP)及其鹽類(Na-PCP、K-PCP)分別加熱(300°~500℃)並探討溫度、鹼金屬離子、及溶劑萃取對八氯戴奧辛(OCDD)生成之影響。OCDD在500℃之收率,Na-PCP和K-PCP相似約為88%;但PCP懂得6.4%。至於K-PCP熱分解生成物中之OCDD,分別以苯及二氯甲院萃取,結果顯示萃的萃取效果最好;經苯萃取後所餘之不溶物用熱重量分析儀和FT-IR檢測,發現不溶物之結構可能為聚合物且與OCDD類似。

The OCDD formation from PCP and its derivatives was studied in the temperature range of 300°-500℃ at intervals of 50℃. The effect on the OCDD recovery from the thermal products of K-PCP by benzene and methylene chloride extractoin was also studied. Benzene removed OCDD from pyrolyzed salts of PCP appeared the best. The results of OCDD yield have been shown to vary according to starting materials. The highest OCDD recovery from PCP was found to be 6.5% at 500℃. However, the maximum conversion of OCDD from Na-PCP and K-PCP was around 88% at 500℃. At the lower temperatures, there were large differences in the yields of OCDD depending on the type of salt. The insoluble materials from pyrolyzed chlorophenate salts were characterized by FT- IR and thermal analysis and appeared to be polymeric material very similar in structure to OCDD.
