The purpose of this study is to investigate the industrial utilization values of five bamboo species, Bambusa oldhamii(BO), B. edulis(BE), B. pachinensis(BP), B. beechyana var. pubescens(BB) and Dendrocalamus strictus(DS) , by means of some culm form factors, including internode length, culm diameter , culm wall thickness and culm wall fraction. The results revealed that no one species show the best value in all culm form factors. All five species were inferior to the bamboo species of former study. Culm form evaluation factors should be respectively considered depending on the type of utilization. The culm form of DS and BE showed more homogeneous than other three bamboo species and the two species had high culm wall fraction. BP also had high culm wall fraction' but intermediate culm form quality. To sum up all culm form evaluation, BO and BB were inferior to other three species as well as their lower culm wall fraction.
