Since the 1990s, there has been increasing international attention to sustainable forestry, and the forest management tools developed in response to this demand have also been reused by countries. In 2017, Taiwan was led by the Forestry Bureau and adopted the international certification system (FSC) as a benchmark to introduce the existing forest management system. In the long term, Taiwan is expected to have a local forest certification system. This research has brought together the requirements of the international forest certification system for the system structure and standards, as well as understanding the context of Taiwan, and proposed the prototype of the Taiwan forest certification system and its implementation strategies.
