評估分散性染料於竹皮棕色染色之效果

Evaluation of Brown Coloring Effectiveness of Disperse Dyes on Bamboo Epidermis

近年來,人們廣泛地將建築材料結合多樣的色調變化融入生活中,而自然型態的竹桿若能結合竹皮染色技術,亦將可拓展竹材的多元應用。為此,本研究即利用棕色分散性染料做為麻竹(Dendralamus latiflorus)、孟宗竹(Phyllostachys pubescens)及桂竹(Phyllostachys makinoi)竹皮染劑,並研發適宜的處理方法。由分散性染料濃度、處理溫度及處理時間對三種竹皮表面染色效果之評估結果得知:麻竹、孟宗竹及桂竹試材直接置於0.1%分散性染料溶液中,以80℃水浴加熱處理1hr,竹皮即可獲得卓著的棕色效果(H°值分別為28.8°、29.2°及 30.5°);此外,三種竹材若以0.1%分散性染液經由二階段製程(即前處理及100℃染色處理1hr),竹皮亦可獲得良好的染色效果(H°值分別為23.3°、19.2°及22.7°),惟需較高的加工成本。再者,桂竹之染色製程中,若結合超音波振盪處理,無論於25℃或60℃加熱處理1hr後,均無法顯著地提升竹皮的棕色染色效果。

In recent years, people decorate their daily environments with building materials combined with a variety of colors. In view of this, it is important to develop multiple applications for bamboo culms by retaining natural characteristics of bamboo combined with different dyeing technologies. The objective of this study was to find an appropriate method and process to treat bamboo epidermis of Ma bamboo (Dendrocalamus latiflorus), Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) and Makino bamboo (Phyllostachys makinoi) with disperse brown dyes. This study investigated influences of treatment conditions on the color of bamboo epidermis. In addition to hot water baths, the ultrasonic heating method was also examined. The results reveal that, an excellent brown dyeing was obtained when the Ma bamboo, Moso bamboo and Makino bamboo culms were treated with 0.1% disperse dyes solutions in a 80°C water bath for 1 hr (H° values of 28.8°, 29.2° and 30.5°, respectively). In addition, alkali-pretreated bamboos also exhibited good brown colors when they were further treated with 0.1% of disperse dyes solution at 100°C for 1 hr (H° values of 23.3°, 19.2° and 22.7°, respectively). However, no significant improvement in brown dyeing was obtained when ultrasonic energy was applied to the water bath at ambient temperature (25°C) or 60°C. This novel treatment method definitely delivers bamboo culms with a fascinating brown skin color and consequently could increase economic values of bamboo products.
