屏東萬隆農場印度紫檀之生長及CO_2吸存量

Growth and CO2 Sequestration of "Pterocarpus indicus" in the Wan-Long farm, Pingtung

摘要


森林是陸地生態系中重要的碳貯存源之一,因此估算林木的CO_2吸存量為近年來的重要議題。然台灣以往對林木CO_2吸存量的研究,多集中在山區之造林地,對平地造林的林木CO_2吸存仍缺乏完善的資料。本研究以屏東縣萬隆農場平地造林為試驗地,調查當地栽植面積最廣的印度紫檀在2002年(7-8年生)及2003年(6-7年生)造林的生長量,並計算其材積及CO_2吸存量。結果顯示6年生印度紫檀之平均胸徑為6.10 cm,7年生為8.07 cm(2003年栽植)、8.60 cm(2002年栽植)、8年生為9.39 cm。胸徑與冠幅的生長趨勢顯示印度紫檀造林木未達鬱閉。CO_2吸存量7年生印度紫檀可達32.55 Mg/ha,8年生為42.19 Mg/ha。生長參數與碳吸存量的回歸式顯示,8年生的印度紫檀單以胸徑之回歸式(Y=0.00227×DBH-0.01057, R2=0.931)即有相當高的準確率,而加入樹高後R2可達0.933(Y=0.00214×DBH+0.00040099×H-0.01196),可供未來迅速推估本試驗地印度紫檀碳吸存量之參考。

Forests are considered a major carbon sequestration source in the world. As a result, assessing CO_2 sequestration of plantations have currently attracted attention. In Taiwan, related studies focus on plantations in mountain areas. However, CO_2 sequestration data from trees planted on plain areas are limited. We estimated the growth and CO_2 sequestration of Pterocarpus indicus, which is the most extensively planted tree species in the Wan-Long farm, Pingtung. Our results showed that the average DBH of P. indicus on 6-year-old, 7-year-old and 8-year-old were 6.10 cm, 8.07 cm (planted in 2003), 8.60 cm (planted in 2002) and 9.39 cm, respectively. The growth trends of DBH and canopy diameter suggested that canopy of P. indicus has not closed in 2010. In regards to CO_2 sequestration, 7-year-old trees of P. indicus have the value of 32.55 Mg/ha, 8-year-old trees have the value of 42.19 Mg/ha. Our regression analysis yielded a model of good fit (Y=0.00214×DBH+0.00040099×H-0.01196; R2=0.93) when taking into account of growth, carbon sequestration and height. This model facilitates rapid estimation of carbon sequestration of P. indicus in the Wan-Long farm.
