雪山主東峰線MODIS地表溫度驗證及特性探討

Validation and Characteristics Analysis of MODIS Land Surface Temperature along the East Ridge of the Syue Mountain in Central Taiwan

摘要


台灣地形起伏劇烈,當進行氣候分區及植群分佈等相關研究時,山區均有觀測點密度不足之憾。本研究藉由美國國家航空暨太空總署所發射之兩顆地球觀測衛星(Aqua/Terra),衛星酬載中級解析度成像分光輻射度計(Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer, MODIS)觀測資料所反演之Level 3地面溫度(Land Surface Temperature, LST)產品,具有相對於地面觀測之1km高空間解析度優點,足以彌補山區觀測之不足。本研究並藉由雪山主東峰線所架設之4個微氣象站進行驗證,結果相關係數達0.98,顯示MODIS-LST在此區域具有相當的參考價值。在此基準下,分析顯示雪山主東峰線日夜地表溫度分別於11月及4月有顯著降溫趨勢,雲霧遮蔽率於相同月份則有顯著增加的趨勢,然而影響因子分析中並不支持兩者有直接關係。MODIS-NDVI值則顯示此區域植生覆蓋穩定年際變異不大,然而土地覆蓋空間變異大。1km空間解析度網格內因地形及地被的變異,MODIS-LST產品提供的均化地表溫度,若要延伸應用於更小尺度之生態領域時,仍應謹慎為之。

Studies of climate zoning and vegetation distribution highly depend on fine spatial resolution of temperature records. However, dramatic terrain in Taiwan limits observations in mountain area. The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) launched two Earth observation satellites (Terra/ Aqua) which payload the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS). The MODIS images produce level 3 land surface temperature (LST) under 1 km spatial resolution 4 times per day, which have potential to make up for deficiency in observations in mountainous area. This study compared monthly MODIS-LST data and ground-based observed air/grass temperature at 4 micro-meteorological stations along the east ridge on Syue Mountain in central Taiwan. The results showed correlation coefficient of 0.98 indicating that MODIS-LST has highly considerable reference value for this area. Long term analysis showed that daytime/nighttime LST had significant cooling trend in November and April. Cloud obscured rates have significantly increasing trend in the same months. However, there were no direct relationship supported by the impact factor analysis. Moreover, long-term MODIS-NDVI values showed that vegetation cover in this area is stable but with high spatial variation within 1 km pixel. Due to complicated land cover and terrain, one should be cautious when applying MODIS-LST products to small scale ecological studies.
