The studied area in Xitou is within the Beixikeng watershed and the elevation difference is about 1000 m. Due to convenient access, it is very suitable for long-term observation of the vertical profile of the climate. In this study, six micrometeorological stations were set up at different altitudes, and the data was used to investigate seasonal and diurnal variation along the temperature gradient. According to observed data in 2016, the phenomenon of inversion at night often occurred between the Nursery station (1174 m a.s.l.) and the Sakura station (1281 m a.s.l.), and frequency was higher during winter. The frequency of inversion events was about 70% from 0900 (CST) to 1000 (CST) between the Phoenix station (1703 m a.s.l.) and the Observatory station (1778 m a.s.l.), and this phenomenon often occurred from April to September. Monthly environment lapse rate was from 2.86 to 4.73 °C km^(-1), which showed typical characteristics of humid climate in this area.
