水蒸氣蒸餾法萃取伽羅木醇型土肉桂葉子精油之可行性評估

Feasibility Evaluation of Leaf Essential Oils from Cinnamomum osmophloeum ct. linalool Extracted by Steam Distillation

摘要


伽羅木醇型土肉桂(Cinnamomum osmophloeum ct. linalool)為臺灣原生土肉桂中相當特殊的一種化學品系,其葉子精油具有相當潛力開發為醫藥保健食品。為促使伽羅木酵型土肉桂葉子精油商業化生產,本試驗探討水蒸氣蒸餾法(Steam distillation, SD)萃取精油之收率及其化學組成分,並與常用之水蒸餾法(Hydrodistillation, HD)萃得精油比較其特性差異,以評估大量萃取葉子精油之可行性。SD最適萃取條件評估之結果顯示,萃取18 g/L的葉子30 min可迅速萃得總收率81.3%之精油,經氣相層析-質譜儀(Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry)鑑定其化學成分組成與HD萃得的相當,主成分皆為S-(+)-Linalool,且二者相對含量皆> 92.5%,顯示SD可能具潛力用於大量萃取伽羅木醇型土肉桂葉子精油,至於商業化之最優萃取條件則有待後續更進一步之研究。

Cinnamomum osmophloeum ct. linalool is a unique chemotype of the indigenous cinnamon in Taiwan. Its leaf essential oil (LEO) has potential to be developed as healthy food and medicine. To promote the extraction of LEO from C. osmophloeum ct. linalool on commercial scale, steam distillation (SD) was used for LEO extraction. In this study, feasibility evaluation of extracting large amounts of LEO using SD was demonstrated according to the yield and the chemical components of LEO obtained, as well as demonstrated by comparing chemical characteristics with the LEO extracted using hydrodistillation (HD). We found that the best extraction condition for SD was extracting 18 g/L amounts of leaves in 30 min. It could rapidly obtain 81.3% of the total LEO. According to gas chromatography- mass spectrometry analysis, the chemical composition of the LEO extracted by SD was comparable with that obtained by HD. The major component of both LEOs was S-(+)-linalool, accounting for more than 92.5% in relative content. These results indicated the potential of SD in extracting large amounts of C. osmophleoun ct. linalool leaf. As for the optimal extraction conditions for commercialization, it requires further investigation in the future.
