Since 2012, Taiwan's higher education has initiated social practice projects aimed at promoting a new teaching and research paradigm that addresses real-world social issues, thereby bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical application. Influenced by the ideas of New Museology that emerged in the 1980s, museums have begun to address challenges such as emphasizing cultural rights, recognizing diversity and subjectivity, and pursuing participatory democratic cultural development. How can museological methods be applied to the social practice initiatives currently being promoted in Taiwan's higher education? This paper explores the concept of a "Street Corner Museum," developed by our team during the implementation of a University Social Responsibility (USR) project. Based on the idea of the Eco-Museum, the project collaborates with artisans in Taichung's old town craft settlement. It combines anthropological cultural translation with a dynamic cultural heritage management model of an Eco-Museum to serve as a method for community engagement. Through collaborative curatorial actions, local life experiences are translated and shared. Walking tours further promote these experiences by inviting artisans to serve as local lecturers, narrating their own life stories. These narratives transform the artisans' livelihood-based craft skills and knowledge into intangible cultural heritage values while enhancing public awareness of everyday craftsmanship. The project revitalizes local cultural and historical values by integrating participatory curation and walking tours as interactive platforms, laying a foundation for urban regeneration through shared cognition and consensus building.
