假牙清潔劑與清潔法對消除假牙牙菌斑之效果

摘要


如何保持假牙的清潔,一直是牙醫師與戴假牙患者所煩惱的問題。雖然有許多假牙清潔法之研究,然而至目前為止並無重大的突破,並無任何一種方法可以使假牙的清潔達到理想。本研究是比較假牙經各種清潔方法處理後,以細菌培養的方法探討殘留在假牙上的牙菌斑的情形,並依男女性別及上下顎假牙之含菌數及狀態,作進一步的分析。其結果乃是假牙之清潔法以清潔劑浸泡復,再刷洗之效果最好。假牙上的牙菌斑的細菌存在數在男女性別間及上下顎假牙問均無顯著差異。而由牙菌血上培養出米的菌種以革蘭氏陽性鏈球菌所佔比例最高,約佔85.7 %,其次為革蘭氏陰性及球菌,約佔45.2%。

A large proportion of denture wearers have appreciable amounts of stains, tartar and plaque on their dentures and this may have undesirable effects on the patient’s oral health and his/her ability to successfully wear dentures. Oral hygiene is directed towards pre - serving healthy teeth and supporting tissues. A dentist must able to recommend a denture cleanser which is safe, effective and nondeleterious to denture materials. A number of investigations have examined the effectiveness of the various denture cleansing methods commonly used by patients. Until now, none of these methods was accepted as the best one. This study was undertaken in an attempt to evaluate the popular cleansing methods and to develop, if possible, a simple means of cleansing dentures readily available to patients. We f6und that a combination of brushing and use of a soak-type cleanser was the most effective method for cleansing dentures. Dentures cleansed by immersion in a soak-type cleanser followed by brushing showed better reduction of bacteria than when brushing was followed by soaking in the same cleanser .We also noted that streptococcus is the most common denture plaque organism, and there is no apparent difference in types and numbers of bacterial colonies occurring in males and females or upper and lower dentures.
