CSAPS系統程式是以BASIC語言寫成，在硬體方面使用了APPLE-II PLUS 微電腦、二部軟式磁碟機、一架電視監視器及一部EPSON LX-80印表機組成。我們並可將所有的資料存於磁片上，以供以後的存取。
GSAPS系統提供了四大項功能：
第一：關於SAPS資料的輸入、貯存併列出全部的計分總分暨相關的預後判讀。另可依需要加添資料欄，以供輸入貯存。
第二：查詢同一個病人一系列的SAPS資料及治療經過。
第三：比較不同治療下，同一病人的一系列SAPS得分總分變動情形；並可依醫師需要查詢不同項目的一系列資料。
第四：提供更進一步專一器官生理機能指數的資料，例如腎機能中的FeNa %、RFI等指數，以供參考判讀。

The computer program system, CSAPS (Comptuterized Simplified Acute Physiology Score), has been developed to afford us a quick evaluation of the physiological condition of the patients in the hospital, especially those in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit). In 1984, Le Gall et al. first proposed the SAPS (simplified acute physiology score) by measuring the 14 biological and clinical variables to reflect the estimated risk of death of patients in the ICU. By converting the relationship between variables of SAPS and risk of death into a computer program and by adding the calculation formulas used in the renal and respiratory function examinations into a computer program, we completed the major part of the CSAPS system. The rest of the CSAPS system is composed of data files for writing and reading the data which were already stored on the floppy diskettes. With the aid of one APPLE-II PLUS microcomputer, two minidisks, one Epson LX-80 printer and floppy diskettes, we can perform the CSAPS system easily to afford us a quick evaluation of the physiological and clinical condition of patients. The CSAPS system can also be changed to fit the need of different doctors of different field by adding or deleting certain parts of the system of programs.
