In Vitro Antibacterial Activity of Cefixime

Cefixime對臨床分離菌的抗菌性

摘要


Cefixime是一種新發展口服用的廣效性抗生素。本研究主要利用臨床分離菌對抗生素最小抑制濃度的測定,來評估cefixime的體外抗菌活性和ampicillin,amoxicillin,cefaclor和cephalexin之抗菌活性比較。由膽道感染,尿道感染和呼吸道感染所分離出之Escherichia coli,Klebsiella pneumoniae,Neisseria gonorrhoeae,Streptococcus pyogenes,Streptococcus pneumoniae,及Haemophilus influenzae對cefixime有100%的敏感性,而Serratia marcescens有97.5% 的感受性,Proteus mirabilis和Morganella morganii的敏感性分別為95%,63%而cefixime對Staphylococcus aureus和Staphylococcus epidermedis 不具抗菌活性。然而Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Pseudomonas cepacia和Bacteroides fragilis對所有抗生素均呈現高度抗藥性,比較之下,cefixime其他抗生素對臨床菌株具有較高的抗菌效果。

In order to evaluate the in vitro antibacterial activity and to compare the activity of cefixime with those of ampicillin, amoxicillin, cefixime with those of ampicillin, amoxicillin, cefaclor and cephalexin, the minimum ihhibitory concentration was determined against various clinical isolates. Among the strains isolated from biliary tract infection, urinary tract infection and respirator tract, cefixime inhibited 100% of Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Streptococcus pyogenes, S.peneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae; 97.5% of Serratia marcescens;95% of Proteus mirablis; 63% of Morganella morganii. Cefixime proved less effective against Staphylococcus aureus and S. epidermidis. However, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, P. cepacia and Bacteroides fragilis were highly resistant to all antibiotics tested. In comparison, cefixime was more potent against the clinical isolates tested than those of agents to be compared.
