Evaluation of the Control of Mosquitoes with Insect Growth Regulators

昆蟲生長調節劑防治蚊蟲之評估

本研究以 chlorfluazuron , diflubenzuron , EL-494 , flufenoxuron , teflubenzuron , iuglone , plumbagin , methoprene 等八種昆蟲生長調節劑在實驗室內測試它們對白線斑蚊、埃及斑蚊、熱帶家蚊、三斑家蚊及白腹叢蚊等五種蚊之藥效 0 Chlorfluazuron , diflubenzuron , EL-494 , flufenoxuron , methoprene 及 teflubenzuron 等昆蟲生長調節劑的 LD50 在 0.0001-0.3ppm OJuglone 及 plumbagin 為 3-25ppm。五種蚊蟲對昆蟲生長調節劑的耐藥性很接近。在pH5- pH9前五種之藥效均很穩定。經紫外線或熱處理(45oC-60oC)後 diflubenzuron 及 flufenoxuron 相當安定。但 EL-494 對熱及紫外線均不安定;當濃度低於0.1ppm 時,teflubenzuron 對熱不穩定, chlorfluazuron 及 methoprene 對紫外線較不安定,協力精(Piperonyl butoxide)與五種昆蟲生長調節劑同時使用會減低藥效。溝渠施用 diflubenzuron (1-5ppm) , flufenoxuron (0.025ppm) , teflubenzuron (1-sppm)能有效地減少熱帶家蚊之幼蟲。容器中盛放 0.5ppm之 dif-hibenzuron亦可有效地減少97%白線斑蚊的孳生。

In this study, the effectiveness of eight insect growth regulators (IGRs) (chlorfluazuron, diflubenzuron, EL-494, flufenoxuron, teflubenzuron, juglone, plumbagin and methoprene)against five mosquito vectors (A rrnigeres subalbatus, Aedes albopictus, Aedes aegypti, Culex tritaeniorhynchus, and Culex quinquefasciatus) was investigated in the laboratory. The EC5O s of chlorfluazuron, diflubenzuron, EL-494, flufenoxuron, teflubenzuron, and methoprene against the five mosquitoes ranged from 0.0001 to 0.3 ppm and those of juglone and plumbagin from 3-25 ppm. The five mosquito species had similar tolerances to the test IGRs. At pH 5 to 9, the effectiveness of the first five chemicals was very stable. After ultraviolet irradiation or heat management (45°C-60°C), diflubenzuron and flufenoxuron were very stable. EL-494 was not stable when exposed to ultraviolet irradiation or heat. Under 0.1 ppm, teflubenzuron was not stable upon exposure to heat and chlorfluazuron and methoprene were not stable when exposed to ultraviolet irradiation. Piperonyl butoxide reduces the effectiveness of the five IGRs. Administration of diflubenzuron (1-5 ppm), flufenoxuron (0.025 ppm), and teflubenzuron (1-5 ppm) reduced Culex quinqaefasciatus larvae in ditches oy 40-90%. The administration of diflubenzuron (0.5 ppm) to containers reduced 977k of the Aedes albopictus larvae.
