摘要

未來將由「E世紀」蛻變到「B世紀」，生物科技的發展對倫理、法律及社會造成莫大影響，同時對於原本的醫療型態造成很大的轉變。護理的目標在協助人類增進健康，並協助解決人類健康問題，運用專業知識及技術，提供社會健康服務。隨著生技時代的來臨，使舊有的議題增加了新特點，護理亦將面臨在專業、科學、教育、行政、研究和實務等多方面的衝擊與挑戰。爲避免護理專業在未來的醫學領域中成爲明日黃花，護理人員應具備生物科技的準備、素養及能力；必須擴張自身角色和責任，充實生物科技知識，逐步增加護理專業的深度及廣度，並整合概念至實務中，此爲現今極需深思的問題。

The coming transition of electronic era toward that of biotechnology will cause a great impact ethically, legally, and socially. The development of biotechnology stimulates huge changes in the current hospital system. Since nursing professionals always try to utilize the best available science in order to provide the best services to the public, it is essential for nurses to understand the underlining changes resulting from this new technology. The goals of nursing include, but are not limited to, improving public health, fulfilling individual health needs, and providing social health services. To reach these goals in this new era, nurses should start thinking about the impact of biotechnology to the future of nursing. Modern nurses need to collaborate with professionalism, scientific knowledge, education, research, and policy implication in order to enhance nursing into a new horizon. With a full awareness of the new challenges, nurses would remain to be one of the key players of medicine in the future.
