This article was aimed to discuss about intensive nursing care experience of a patient with aortic aneurysm status post repair surgery. In this case, the patient experienced major disease with surgery and suffered from physiologic, psychological, social and spiritual stress. The author used the Roy adapting model of nursing to evaluate this patient. The main health problems included ineffective respiratory tract clearance, pain, potential infection risk and anxiety. We gave the patient clinical nursing care, instruction of nursing care and psychological support to overcome the helpless period due to isolation in the intensive care unit. We also used a supportive system to help the patient face the disease and overcome phsiological and psychological pain. Finally, the patient was transferred to an ordinary ward and discharged as scheduled. We hoped that our intensive nursing experience may be a reference for further clinical nursing care.
