民族誌者藉由長時間的參與觀察兒童和青少年的日常生活,可以探索其動態且複雜的社會互動行為。本文旨在敘述以民族誌研究做為探究兒童與青少年生活經驗的一種研究方法,研究者進入臨床場域參與觀察癌症兒童和青少年的經驗,以四位一體的田野工作為骨架,作為探究癌症兒童與青少年田野研究的指引和省思。研究者在臨床場域參與觀察過程中,從田野地選擇的考量、到進入田野中使用各種媒介與互動的原則,與兒童和青少年建立互惠的關係,讓研究者體會到這樣的策略不只是關係的建立,也是資料收集的方法。而在田野工作中,更觸及研究者對人的關懷省思,在從事有關兒童和青少年的研究中,研究者需要避免兒童和青少年受到傷害,以及應該擔負研究倫理的責任。自我反思是民族誌研究者很重要的工作,藉由親身經歷田野體驗的反思歷程,對田野研究者有不同觀點的啟發與省思。
This article describes the reflections of the researcher regarding the use of participant observations of the living experiences of children and adolescents with cancer. The researcher employed the participatory observation process as well as various techniques and interactive principles in the clinical field to consider the field of choice, and establish mutually beneficial relationships with children and adolescents, enabling the researcher to appreciate that this strategy not only facilitates establishing relations, but also is a method of data collection. The researcher ensured protection of the children and adolescents from harm during the fieldwork and conducted the research in accordance with ethical norms. Reflexivity of ethnographers is a crucial part of the research process. Reflexivity has different views regarding inspiration and reflection for the researcher.
