摘要

本文以「中國近代史」研究為中心，分析這一領域如何在歷史學科中被建立起來，並進而發展為怎樣的特色。主要的焦點集中在蔣廷黻、羅家倫及郭廷以等三人，說明他們對中國近代史的影響。文章側重三個重心重新檢視：第一「中國近代史」如何成為獨立研究領域，包括時代的背景和條件。第二部分討論研究近代史的方法及意義，針對1930年代羅家倫、蔣廷黻和郭廷以三人相關的官論為主。最後則以1940年代的郭廷以的著作《中國通史》稿本為例，分析其中有關近代史範圍的內容，並嘗試檢驗稿本中所反映的近代史觀及詮釋。

This theme regards studying in 'modem Chinese history'(MCH) as the centre, it is analysed how this field is in historical discipline set up, what kind of characteristic and then develop into. The main focus concentrate on Chiang Ten-fu, Luo Jia-lun and Kuo Ting-yee, show their influence on MCH. The article lays particular emphasis on three parts: First, how MCII becomes independent research field, including the background and condition of the times. Second part discusses the methods and meanings of studying MCH, is mainly with the opinions that three people are correlated with to Chiang, Luo and Kuo in 193Os. Finally, from the manuscript of Chinese general history which made by Kuo, it is as an example analyse the contents about MCH area among them, and try to examine the MCH opinions reflected in the manuscript and interpretations.
