Existing studies on vogue words aimed at exploring contemporary neologism; while 米川(2002) summarized the vogue words emerging in before World War Ⅱ, up to the Meiji Period. Based on the vogue words listed in米川(2002), this paper studied how vogue words used in Japan during 1895-1945 were utilized in Taiwan. Chinese can easily adopt Kenji symbols, therefore, this work surveyed the literature pressed in Taiwan during the Japan-colonized period for tracking how the mentioned vogue words were therein used. The characteristics of those vogue words as well as the time these words were transferred to Taiwan were highlighted. We noted that some vogue words, such as 美容院, were used earlier in Taiwan than in Japan. The results shown in this work revealed the significance of literature data of Taiwan in Japan-colonized period to Japanese linguistics studies.
