A series of chrominophosphates, CrPs, with various Cr2O3/CrPO4 ratios were prepared by coprecipitation. Thermal properties of the CrPs were characterized by X-ray diffraction, by thermogravimetric analysis, and by differential thermal analysis. The results reveal that the nonstoichiometric CrPs form a nearly physical admixture of Cr2O3 and CrPO4 as two individual compounds that mutually inhibited crystallization, resulting in a high thermal stability.
