Anodic Oxidation of Benzyl Alcohol with and without Redox Mediators Using Modified Electrodes

利用修飾電極探討有無還原媒子對陽極氧化苯甲醇之研究

摘要


探討苯甲醇在有無還原媒子的狀態下進行陽極化反應。修飾電極表面型態及其特性皆被分析。從循環伏安法結果得知,被修飾過之電極在水溶液極電極之電容電流及其表面積均較大。經對苯二酚固定之電極循環伏安法所得之還原較未經對苯二酚固定者為大。由苯二酚固定於白金之電極所得苯甲醛之產率分別白金電極無/有苯二酚存在於溶液中之產率為高/低。

Benzyl alcohol was anodically oxidized with and without redox mediators using modified electrodes. The morphologies and characteristics of the modified electrodes with and without redox mediators were analyzed. Cyclic voltammograms of the modified electrodes showed that the capacitive current and area of the solution-electrode interface were rather large. The CV redox peak with fixed hydroquinone was larger than that without fixed hydroquinone. The yield of benzaldehyde obtained by using the modified anode containing immobilized hydroquinone was better/worse than that obtained with a Pt anode without/with hydroquinone in solution, repectively.
