Results of 4 regional trials are reported to assess some promising potato clones for yield and other qualities. All tested clones have been selected at TART. Seed tubers of Kennebec and Cardinal (as check varieties) were provided by Feng-Yuan and Tou-Nan Farmers' Association, respectively. Single row ridges were used at Hsi-Kou plantings while double row ridges were used at other two locations. The main check varidty used was Kennebec for Hsi-Kou trials, Cardinal for Tou-Nan and both Kennebec and Cardinal were used for Sheng-Kang. The fall crop at Hsi-Kou gave the best yield and highest tuber specific gravity for all tested clones among 4 trials, while the fall crop of Tou-Nan gave the lowest proportion of marketable tubers out of total tuber yields. At Hsi-Kou, all tested clones gave excellent virus resistance in both fall and winter crops. All clones outyielded Kennebec significantly. No. 143 and 770 had marketable yield of 47 and 41 t/ha, respectively, in fall crop and both No. 143 and 386 had marketable yield of 35 t/ha in winter crop. Kennebec gave total yield of 24.9% and marketable yield of 22.6 t/ha in fall. The corresponding yield values of Kennebec in winter were 23 and 16 t/ha. It also gave the lowest tuber specific gravity of 1.0731 in fall and 1.0609 in winter. At Shen-Kang, the top yielder was 385095-15 with marketable yield of 35 t/ha while Kennebec and Cardinal gave marketable yield of Ca. 15 and 24.8 t/ha, respectively. Both No. 143 and No. 770 yielded same as Cardinal but higher than Kennebec. The highest specific gravity was obtained by No. 386 while the lowest one was obtained by both Kennebec and 385095-15. At Tou-Nan, No. 143、385095-15 and 385095-54 all yielded higher but not at a significant marketable tuber yield level than Cardinal. However, both 385095-15 and 385095-54 had significantly heavier total tuber yield than Cardinal. The potential of each clone to be released as variety were discussed.
