水田栽培檳榔心芋葉面積之簡易估算法

A Simple Method for Estimating Leaf Area in Wetland Taro (Colocasia esculenta (L.) Schott)

摘要


本研究之主要目的在探討臺灣本地栽培種檳榔心芋於水田栽培時之單葉面積的簡易估算方法,藉不同取樣時期的葉長及葉寬之測量,以尋找出一套精確、簡單、迅速且適用於整個生育期之簡易方式來估算葉面積。本試驗於1991年秋作在臺灣省農業試驗所試驗田區進行,自移植當天起至收穫為止,每隔21天,逢機調查10株芋植株,分別測量各葉之葉面積(A)、沿著中肋由葉尖至葉基之最大長度(L1)、葉尖至葉片裂刻之葉長(L2)及最大葉寬(W)。結果顯示,由於芋葉的葉形在整個生長過程中大致維持固定,故毋須藉由葉面積測定器,利用葉長及葉寬,即可有效地估算出芋之葉面積大小。而且檳榔心芋的葉尖至葉基之最大葉長與葉尖至葉片裂刻之葉長具有一定的1.21:1之比例關係,因此可任意選擇其中一種的葉長測量值來估算單葉面積,而以後者對非破壞性之分析在取樣過程中較為簡便。水田栽培檳榔心芋之單葉面積估算公式,可為指數函數或迴歸方程式,其估算準確度均甚高且相近。其中以A=0.68×L1×W或A=0.82×L2×W,其模式中的估算介值最少(僅有一個),且不致因取樣時期不同而異,為最簡單且實用。

This study was made to develop an accurate, simple and rapid method for estimating individual leaf area of wetland taro 〔Colocasia esculenta (L.) Schott〕 under different growth periods in Taiwan. The experiment was conducted in the fall crop of 1991 at Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute. A total of 10 plants was randomly sampled at 21-day intervals starting at transplanting and ending at harvest. The area (A), length from lamina tip to lamina base along the mid-rib (L1), length from lamina tip to lamina lobe (L2), maximum width of lamina (W) of each leaf were measured. Results indicated that leaf length and width were available for estimation of leaf area without leaf area meter, because the leaf shape of taro almost kept constant during the whole periods of plant growth. Since there was a proportion relationship of 1.21:1 between L1 and L2, either of them can be defined as the length measurement. However, L2 facilitates nondestructive measurement of leaf length. The exponential functions and regression equations were all best fitted to estimate leaf area in wetland taro, and had the similar predictive ability. The formulae of A=0.68×L1×W and A=0.82×L2×W were the most easy and useful methods to estimate the leaf area of wetland taro, because the models possessed the least number of estimating factors (only one), and performed well for different growth periods.
