摘要

落花生台農六號之父母本分別為台南十一號及台農五號，於1985年春作進行人工雜交，雜交後裔以混合法培育，F5時進行單株選拔，並在本所及主要產地進行兩年四期作之品系產量試驗（品系代號855-HB-3），及兩年四期作全省性之區域試驗（品系代號農育28號），由於莢果及籽粒均大，產量佳，於1995年6月通過審查，並獲政府公告為「台農六號」。
台農六號屬西班牙型(Spanish type)，早熟性（春作約120~130天、秋作約105~115天成熟），植株直立粗壯，株高春作約51公分、秋作約45公分，分枝數4~7支。葉形大、深綠色，呈倒卵形。花黃色。莢果為中筒型、長約3.62公分、寬約1.62公分，百莢重約170公克，果腰中等，網紋淺，每莢果大多為二個籽粒。籽粒為橢圓形、長約1.81公分、寬約0.92公分，千粒重約700公克，種皮為淡紅色。平均公頃莢果產量春作約2,712公斤、秋作約2,343公斤；籽粒產量春作約1,745公斤、秋作約1,548公斤。籽粒油份含量春作約48.2%、秋作約44.7%；蛋白質含量春作約31.2%、秋作約29.4%。銹病及葉斑田間調查結果均比對照品種台南十一號較具抗病性。

Tainung No.6 was developed from the F5 bulk population of cross between Tainung No. 5 and Tainan No.11 in 1985, and was released by TARI in 1995. Large pod and kernel, high-yielding potential and good adaptability were identified through a series of tests at TARI and major peanut production areas of Taiwan. Tainung No.6 is Spanish-type with erect growth habit and early-maturity (about120-130 days and 105-115 days to harvest in the spring and fall crop respectively). It has two-seedes pod with medium cylindrical shape, constrition, and reticulation. The traits of pod and kernel shows as follws: the pod size is 3.65×1.62cm, the 100-pod weight is 170g, the kernel size is 1.81×0.92cm, and the 1000-kernel weight is about 700g. Tainung No.6 possesses high yield potential, in spring and fall crop the average pod yield are 2712 and 2343kg/ha, and kernel yield are 1745 and 1548kg/ha, respectively. Oil and crude protein content are 44.7-48.8% and 29.0-31.2%, respectively. Tainung No.6 has higher resistance to leaf spot and rust than the commercial cultivar Tainan No.11.
