摘要

本報告所使用之標本係1970年按月於高雄魚市場採集雙拖船在中國南海北部（第四漁區）所漁獲之金線紅姑魚。成熟卵巢各部位（左、右葉之前、中、後共六部位）間之卵徑頻度分布及單位重量卵粒數沒有顯著的差異。卵巢之增重是由於大型卵粒（卵徑0.4mm以上）數之增多和抱卵數之增加所致。產卵期爲2～6月，但以2月至4月爲盛期。體長別性比有隨着體長之增大而遞減的現象，而且尾叉長在27cm以上之大型者雌魚僅佔10%左右。抱卵數與尾叉長呈下式之關係

主要產卵場在香港南西約浬90～150以及香港南方約35浬之海域。

Studies on the maturity and spawning of golden thread (Nemipterus virgatus) were made on samples caught by Taiwan's bull trawlers which operated in the northern area of the South China Sea from January 1970 to January 1971.They show that the increase in the ovary weight is due to the increase in fecundity and the larger number of large eggs. Spawning season is from February to June with a peak from February to April. The sex ratio (Female/Female+Male) of the fish in different fork length groups decrease as fork length increases, and it is about 0.1 when fork length exceeds 27 cm. A log-log relationship was established between fecundity and fork length. The main spawning grounds are located about 90-150 miles southwest and 35 miles south of Hong Kong.
