Dissolved oxygen(DO)content in water of earthern ponds was continuouslymonitored for 24 hours.Other environmental factors,including windspeed,water temperature,light intensity,light extinction coefficient,pH-value,salinity,etc.were also observed during the monitoring period.Statisticalanalysis showed that oxygen content was significantly correlated with DOcontent at a previous time.Light intensity and water temperature alsoaffected DO content significantly.Three empirical,deterministic models weredeveloped through successive stages of regression analysis.Model simulationenables the prediction of oxygen content at indefinite period of time.Prediction of the model was consistent with field observations.
