The changes of flow velocity and pattern under the force of current wereexamined in this present study once a netting cage had been installed in anexperimental water channel.The inner average velocity and volume for the same flow velocity wereobserved to decrease as the D/L increased.However,with the same D/L ofnetting cage,the inner flow velocity was observed to increase under a lowflow velocity as flow velocity increased.That is,the inner flow velocity wouldcontrarily decrease gradually;once flow velocity reached a certain maximumdegree.Meanwhile,the volume tended to decrease as the flow velocity wasincreasing.Taking a netting cage of D/L=0.1 for instance the flow velocityof the octval netting cage is larger than 0.4 m/s the volume would decrease toless than 60% of the original volume.
