Different Anesthetic Effects of 2-Phenoxyethanol on Four Species of Teleost

2-phenoxyethanol對四種魚類的麻醉效果

本實驗以不同濃度的2-phenoxyethanol對黑鯛、七星鱸、吳郭魚和胎鳉魚進行麻醉。實驗發現,隨著麻醉劑濃度增高,麻醉誘導時間會減短,但恢復時間卻未因麻醉劑濃度不同而有顯著變化。不同魚種在相同濃度之2-phenoxyethanol麻醉下的麻醉誘導時間亦有差異。400 ppm的2-phenoxyethanol已可使黑鯛與七星鱸在3分鐘內被麻醉。但對吳郭魚和胎鳉魚,即使600 ppm仍無法使他們在3分鐘內被麻醉。因此要有效麻醉這兩種魚類,可能需要更高的2-phenoxyethanol濃度。

Four species of teleost (Acanthopagrus schlegeli, Lateolabrax japonicus, Oreochromis mossambicus and Poecilia velifera) were anesthetized with different concentrations of 2-phenoxyethanol (2-PE). Induction time of all fishes decreased with increasing concentrations of 2-PE but recovery time was concentration-independent. The induction time of the four fishes anesthetized with same concentration of 2-PE varied. A. schlegeli and L. japonicus were anesthetized within 3 min in 400 ppm 2-PE solution. The induction time for O. mossambicus and P. velifera at the concentration of 600 ppm was, however, longer than 3 min. Therefore, to anesthetize the latter two fishes effectively, higher concentration of 2-PE may be necessary.
