Two Species of Rare Sea Lice (Copepoda, Caligidae) Parasitic on Marine Fishes of Taiwan

寄生在台灣產海水魚體上的二種罕見海水魚虱（橈足類亞綱：魚虱科）

摘要

從台灣產的海水魚體上收集到二種少見的寄生橈足類魚虱，他們分別為：從花軟唇[Plectorhinchus cinctus (Temminck and Schlegel)]與紅牙魚或[Otolithes rubbe (Bloch andSchneider)]二種魚體上收集到的”Caligus sp. 1” Roubal, Armitage & Rohde, 1983與從大鱗峻Liza macrolepis (Smith)]魚體上收集到的Pseudocaligus laminatus Rangnekar, 1955。經過詳細比對研究後，前者確定為新種，故再加以命名為Caligus chiastos n. sp.。此兩種海水魚虱自從被發現後，一直都未被再發現；其稀少性亦可由此次在台灣被發現的情況佐證：前種寄生性橈足類僅收集到雌、雄各㆒隻，後種寄生性橈足類也僅收集到㆒隻雌蟲。

Two species of rare caligid copepods were collected from three species of marine fishes of Taiwan. They are: ”Caligus sp. 1” of Roubal, Armitage and Rohde, 1983 from crescent sweetlips, Plectorhinchus cinctus (Temminck and Schlegel) and tiger-toothed croaker, Otolithes ruber (Bloch and Schneider), and Pseudocaligus laminatus Rangnekar, 1955 from largescale mullet, Liza macrolepis (Smith). Comparative study of the former species revealed that it is a new species, hence, it is renamed Caligus chiastos n. sp. Both species of sea lice have not been sighted again since their original report. The rareness of these parasites is also evidenced by their occurrence in Taiwan; while the former species was represented by a female and a male, the latter species, by a female only.
